Henry

We named Henry after the celebrated automotive engineer and co-founder of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd, Sir Henry Royce (1863-1933).

Henry is a lovely Rolls-Royce four-door saloon Silver Shadow II, built in 1979 and finished in a gorgeous Larch Green. Like all Rolls-Royce cars, Henry sports the familiar bonnet motif, Spirit of Ecstasy, which was introduced by the Rolls-Royce company in an attempt to discourage the flaunting of some rather “tasteless” ornaments on the bonnets of their cars!

Henry has made some good impressions over the years. In a 2018 article by Sam Skelton, the classic-car journalist, this car – our own Henry – was described as “the nicest Silver Shadow II I’ve driven.” Skelton added, “It feels right.”
